NZTA Licensed Motor Vehicle Trader

We operate as a licensed motor vehicle trader under the Motor Vehicle Sales Act. In New Zealand, anyone who buys and sells more than six vehicles in a 12-month period for the purpose of trade must be a registered motor vehicle trader — and that register is public and free to search. Registration means we're accountable to the Motor Vehicle Traders Register and bound by the consumer protections of the Act. Ask any buyer for their trading name and check it; a legitimate operator will be happy for you to.

Registered New Zealand Company

You don't need a current WOF or registration to sell. We'll confirm the registered-keeper details with you, and you're welcome to lodge the disposal yourself through your NZTA account as well for peace of mind. • Search the Companies Register to confirm the company is active and see its registered office and directors.
• Confirm a physical address you can find on a map — not just a mobile number.
• Check your own PPSR if there's finance owing, so any security interest is cleared before the sale.
• Insist the NZTA change of ownership is done at collection, and keep your copy.
